Yesterday started with a gourmet breakfast before

Yesterday started with a gourmet breakfast before going on a training run with the sled dogs. Then we loaded up the ATVs with gear for a full day outing. We took a scenic route into the high country to a pristine alpine lake. Then inflated our packrafts while we had a picnic lunch while looms called to us. We paddled to the far end of the lake and then went for a hike with the Arctic ground squirrels and ptarmigan. We paddled back and then looked for moose and caribou on our return ATV ride. Back at the lodge in time for gourmet dinner and cocktails. Guests took a nap to get ready to get up after dark to look for Aurora and the Perseids meteor shower.

A big day of adventure! What will today bring?

Beth Chrisman and the Morning Afters from Austin, Texas made a quick stop at the lodge this week on their Alaskan Tour. Here is one of the songs they played while warming up in the main lodge. They are playing in Ester tonight, don't miss them! We hope to bring you more musical guests in the future via live feed and possibly some live outdoor shows. We had a beautiful sunset at 11:30 pm on the Susitna River last night!

We had a slow moment at the lodge, so it was time

We had a slow moment at the lodge, so it was time for some fun.. so we took an airboat ride up the Mclaren River yesterday with our neighbors at Mclaren River Lodge to do some whitewater pack rafting. It was fun to see the hiking and calmer water paddling potentials up there. We can set up an awesome boat ride/hike/paddling experience with them as part of your adventure package here at Susitna Adventure Lodge.
